Jammu, Sept 7: Even as the oath ceremony has been deferred for the newly elected members of Kargil Hill Development Autonomous Council, tension continues to drift apart the two ruling coalition government allies National Conference and Congress over the nomination of four members by the former unilaterally . Following pressure from the Congress over what it sees as an undemocratic and unhealthy political move of its partner, the matter has now been pushed into the court of Coordination Committee. The Committee having senior members on board from both the parties will sit in a couple of days to settle the matter 'amicably'.
Sources said consequent upon Congress having taken a tough posture over NC's unilateral decision of nominating all the four members for the House in a hurriedly manner, the NC has budged a bit , albeit only to the extent of agreeing to deferring the oath ceremony which was scheduled for today, September 7. Jammu, Sept 7: Cong is contemplating snapping ties with National Conference after NC having engineered control over Kargil Council.
The state unit of the Cong has told the party high command that NC has backstabbed it and party should snap ties with it.
Cong was hoping to control Kargil with the support of five independents. The party had already increased its tally and was hoping to control the Kargil Council for the first time. The party in this eventuality would have been controlling both Kargil and Leh councils.

SRINAGAR, Sept 7: National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah on Saturday hit out at separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani for opposing the concert of renowned Western classical music icon Zubin Mehta.
