"Twelve years back dozens of sub-standard computer systems were purchased when Mushtaq Ahmad Peer was the HOD, Computer Sciences department. The computers systems broke down immediately after purchase but no enquiry was ordered by the people at helm. Why is Geelani's release, arrest becoming a national issue?
11/22/2013 10:59:18 PM
ET Report JAMMU, Nov 22: Separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani has been making a joke of both the rule of law and responsible civilian behaviour in the Valley for more than 23 years and ironically the hardliner's modes and shades are sustained by the State Government. Both releasing and arresting the 84-year old separatist leader have been problems with which intelligence and security agencies in J&K and Delhi have been losing their sleep for quite some time now. There is no clear cut policy as to how the old man of Kashmiri separatist camp should be handled. He is kept under continuous house arrest for days without end and then he is released. It is a pathetic situation when a State Governmen...

Youth main victims of Omar's Government : Mehbooba
'CM should come clean on scandalous Peer'
11/22/2013 10:59:04 PM
Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Nov 22: Omar's assuming office of the Chief Minister in 2008 had generated hopes of a new era, free from corruption and nepotism. But five years down the line and at the fag end of his tenure, on the contrary, he has being viewed as a person who promoted corruption and favoritism. He has nothing to boast of except scams, broken promises and shattered hopes. Today Omar has sought pardon from the people for the BOPEE scam. But, it was Omar who granted him extension. His continuation on extension in 2012 and his subsequent employment as in charge of the so called fast track recruitment prove how darling and dear he was to the government. It is not a crime by some...

Rustam JAMMU, Nov 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had on Thursday bemoaned the failure of the separatists to get the Kashmir problem resolved and asserted that the deserting of the Valley by the National Conference leaders (read Farooq Abdullah and his ilk) in 1990 only turned out to be an exercise in futility. "Militancy and violence has changed not an iota on political spectrum of Jammu & Kashmir but resulted in miseries, economic disaster and blood-shed," he said at Tral, and added that "deserting their homeland in 1990's by National Conference leadership was not due to any fear or weakness but with the contention that the then emerging separatists may make dent vis-a-vis resolving vex...

'Extension is given to promote corruption'
11/22/2013 10:58:26 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 22: As Mushtaq Peer former BOPEE Chairman is being grilled by the State Crime Branch , Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is now shedding crocodile tears over the CET scam but how can he deny the fact that it was his own Cabinet which met under his chairmanship last year and ordered an extension for him. In addition to `uncalled for extension' Peer was appointed as Consultant for fast track appointment committee for appointing class IV employees. This made it amply clear that Peer enjoyed political patronage and must have made a fortune while appointing Class IV employees. Pertinent to mention here that Mushtaq Ahmad Peer was earlier appointed as Chairman BOPEE by...
