SRINAGAR, June 6: NDA Government's union Law Minister and senior BJP leader, Ram Jethmalani, who has revived activity of the Vajpayee-supported Kashmir Committee after exactly 10 years, today equated Omar Abdullah's coalition government with the German dictator Hitler's Nazi regime. While calling for total revocation of J&K Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), the eminent lawyer observed that lawlessness, corruption, nepotism and favouritism had become the order of the day in the "Police State" of Jammu & Kashmir.
Jethmalani's 4-member committee, which includes lawyer V K Grover, a local youth Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra and Delhi-based activist Madhu Kishwar, whose love for PDP and hatred for NC has been the talk of the town in Kashmir, called on most of the separatist leaders including those from both factions of Hurriyat Conference, JKLF and others before concluding its maiden visit to the Valley today. RAJOURI, June 6: Believe it or not but two candidates contesting Panchayat elections for Sarpanch in one particular Panchayat of Rajouri district celebrated each others defeat a and victory between two days.
A candidate who won elections of Sarpanch few days ago has been declared as defeated by the authorities while declaring defeated candidates as elected. Both the candidates have in their possession certificates of victory. As per sources, a defeated candidate Mohammad Ishaq in Kasba Panchayat was given certificate of victory by the election authorities after re-count.

JAMMU, June 6: Akhnoor Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a murder accused who allegedly stabbed to death his friend yesterday on the banks of river Chenab.
They said that a police team led by concerned SHO Akhnoor under the supervision of SDPO (Akhnoor) Mustaq Choudhary conducted raids at the hideout of accused somewhere at Nagbani area and arrested him. He has been identified as Ranjeet Singh alias Rishu son of Kuldeep Singh of Ballan-da-Bagh. Rishu after committing murder of Surinder Sharma son of Girdhari Lal fled from the spot.

SRINAGAR, June 6: Jammu and Kashmir police has compiled data of youth who are still across the line of control (LOC) in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and found out that 325 are still holding gun.
According to this data; of these 325, 119 are active in the state since 1990. Data, compiled by J&K Police and Criminal Investigation Department (CID), shows majority of the militants are operating in north Kashmir.

SRINAGAR, June 6: A policeman takes position next to the body of a man who was shot dead by an unidentified gunman near Pratap Park in Srinagar.
Mohammad Afzal Khan, a middle aged man, was shot dead by an unidentified gunman near Pratap Park in Lal Chowk in broad day light on Monday. Afzal son of Samandar Khan of Nihalpora, Sopore, was shot in his head from a point blank range resulting in his on spot death.

JAMMU, June 6: Property worth lakhs which including beds, trolleys and chairs burnt to ashes in an accidental fire that broke out in the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) here today.
The fire broke out in the corridors near the Spinal ward in GMCH around 7 pm where the scrap items, including useless bed, trollies, and chairs were dumped.
The fire and emergency services department, eyewitnesses said, pressed into services which took two hours to extinguish the fire. The reason behind the accidental fire has not been confirmed till late hours.
